In case you missed it over the weekend, check out Blair Anthony Robertson’s rave about Sac Rag favorite Boon Boon over at the Sac Bee: “A leader looking for a following.” The web version has a great little audio profile and slideshow on the restaurant and its chef and owner Linda Chindalucklate.

I hope the story keeps Boon Boon functioning. Every time I go in there and see it 1/4 full I’m worried. I haven’t had anything less than an excellent meal there yet.

Me too, moe. Since the Bee article, the last few times I’ve driven past there have been people inside!

I took a friend there for his dinner tonight. It was 3/4 full when we got there (6:30) and by 7 it was packed with at least 2 or 3 tables’ worth of people waiting for a seat. When we left at 7:45 there were still people waiting.

Meal was crab fried rice, 8-hr pork, massaman curry, pad see euw, the thai shrimp hot/sour soup … it was all fantastic, and the portions seem slightly bigger now too. it’s actually getting BETTER, I think, although previously i didn’t think there was room for improvement.

Spicy Thai soup, eh? That is so awesome. How is that 8 hr pork? I have been wanting to try that and the spaghetti.
