Local YouTuber and Wallpaper drummer Arjun Singh has a new episode of his “The Public Access Show” up, and this time he’s going into a new dimension: the 3rd Dimension. The new episode, released Sunday on YouTube, is in 3D.
Singh filmed the entire episode using 2 cameras, so it is “shot in 3D” rather than converted. The whacked-out, offbeat humor translates well to this new dimension, where up is down and nothing is as it seems. Singh’s “Advanced Drumming Techniques” sketch is here, as well as Muppets, high fives, and a showpiece sketch set in the “Star Wars” ‘verse. RanSACkedMedia.com is a fan too.
You can use traditional red-green glasses, or pick them up for free (you’ll pay shipping costs) from the TPAS website. And you can disable the 3D feature in the player by clicking on the “3D” icon.
Newer movie theater “Buddy Holly” 3D glasses won’t work for this, however. From the TPAS FAQs:
Question: I walked out of Beauty and the Best 3D with my glasses. Will those work?
Answer: First off, you should be ashamed of yourself. Secondly, no. This episode will be filmed in O.G. 3D…also known as “the red and blue ones” 3D. You need to dig up your copy of Night of the Living Dead 3D or that 3D coloring book you use to have. YouTube also alows for Green/Magenta and Blue/Yellow combo glasses. If you have one of those colors you will be set, however, for viewing on your local public access channel, you will need Red/Blue. Movie theaters 3D use a method of 3D that polarizes light where as the red and blue (actually cyan) glasses use color filtering. You can read more about the differences in red and blue and movie theater 3D if you like being informed.
