As the SacRag is surely the only source of information to many of you we felt compelled to mention that today is Special Election Day 2005.
Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Not sure where to go to vote? Look up your polling place here. Not sure what to vote on? Do your research here.
These are crazy times, people, and expensive ones.
No on 74!

“Voting” only puts you at the top of the govt watch list. It shows that you are willing to take a position on an issue AND act on it! Dangerous times kids…
You are much better off destroying the system from the inside & in sneaky ways that no one will detect or be able to do anything about: Get a job at the DMV & make small but important typos (many of us are already doing this); Drive backwards, pointed the right way, down a one way street; Swap out street signs showing the “X00” block with other street signs showing the “Y00” block. Shut off your electricity, but don’t move. Submit your own obituary to the paper to throw the man off your trail. Buy clunker cars, and abandon them in desireable locations: at the mall at Christmas, at the airport, parking garages, loading zones, etc. Lock bike tires (no bike), shopping carts, random junk, to signposts; Insert fake “sale” ads for Macys, promising 60% off to first 200 customers, into the newspapers from paper machines.
Don’t buy into the voting hype. Change the system by destroying it with its own rules- you have seen much of our work already. True power to the people!
And if you HAVE to vote (i.e.; employer watching you, conditions of witness protection program, etc.), vote yes on everything. Especially the union thing, just ’cause the unions are pissing me off with their whining about having to send me a form to sign before they get to withhold 1/3 of my check.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAAH!

squirty: how’s that working out for you? being clever?

cool: Swell. But I’m not “clever”– it’s more of a “supra-intelligence.” How’d the Bee interview work out for you? Now THAT was “clever.”

Cool DMZ, I don’t get it… is ST trying to burn you? It’s a) undeniably cool that you were in the SacBee and b) hard to believe that ST thinks the SacRag is beneath him, since he’s on the site enough to be charged a nuisance fee.

me just make Fight Club joke. playing up the “jokester” part of snarky jokester.

Yeah- seems like I’m the only one on the site besides the authors. Oh! DOUBLE BURN!
Uh- yeah. The Sac Bee is UNDENIABLY cool. I can see the appeal for some HeyPeople in a HeyTown.
Next? Anyone?

I think that Squirty Tip is the real Tyler Durden. Where can I get me some of that soap?

I’ve been reading for some time now and while I enjoy the Rag, I’m a little perplexed. It seems that your articles are put forth to generate discussion amongst your readers, right? When your commenters make jokes or don’t explicitly agree with the author, they are slammed. Isn’t your site supposed to be for fun? To drum up some lighthearted conversation even if it gets a little out of control? In the past few months it has become apparent that what you really want is to voice your opinion and have people comment that your opinion is right, that your authors are brilliant and anyone who doesn’t agree should shop elsewhere.

chienfriend: I respectfully disagree. Jerk.

Chienfriend: I can see where you might think that, especially because there is a tendency to jump all over ST in particular. I can only speak for myself, but I feel no hesitation in jumping all over him when he posts because of the viewpoint he expressed under the October post called “surprise inconvenience.” If you check the archives you’ll see why I think he goes a bit beyond “just for fun.” I’m still holding it against him. As for everyone else who comments, I take it with a sense of humor just like you suggested. What can I say, I have my sticking points. 🙂

Sounds good. In return, I will attack heyseedMeg at every opportunity in the future as well, regarding her assenine opinion that the Sac Been is cool. Anyone who thinks the Sac Bee is “UNDENIABLY” cool should hear about it for the rest of their posting life, or until they learn how to read a REAL newspaper.
Can’t help but notice that the SacRag has a STRING of “articles” with ZERO comments- all with not a single squirtyism. Then squirty squirts and the comments go CRAZY. Name a non-Squirted article with more than 8 comments? I can’t seem to find one. So much for participation. I’ll try to limit my comments to:
1) attacking site authors so HeyseedMeg “can defend herself” since she seems to think that Mr. Tip only attacks the helpless & it’s her mission to teach him a lesson.
2) providing insightful and safe opinions like “yeah- I saw that homeless person too!”
I just hope HeyMeg never tries to open a business and do a remodel. Then again, maybe I’ll just wheel myself down the for opening and “strain my shoulder” and sue for millions. Of course, that NEVER happens according to HeyMeg, so it will come as quite a suprise to her.

ST: don’t flatter yourself. Nobody here disagrees that the Bee is definitely Been, and the future belongs to The Sac Rag.
But I think you can’t read good: HeyMeg, who I will defend to the death, said “it’s undeniably cool THAT you were in the SacBee”… read it again. Try.

and I think I speak for everyone here and/or with a beating heart when I say if there’s anybody who’s hoping, it’s all of us hoping that you find yourself disabled one day. Beyond the uncontrollable ejaculation thing, which I assume you’re treating.

ST: Bring it. Believe me, you are the least of the crap that I deal with on a daily basis. You’re my fun time break from the things that really matter. So don’t get too excited with yourself.

HeyMeg, thanks for the comment back. Seriously. I get where you’re coming from but considering I barely said anything that would offend anyone and was called a jerk…you can see where my line of thinking was.

Chienfriend: I’m not the PR director for sacrag or anything but I took that as a joke rather than seriously intended to insult you. I too like everybody to get along. In a snarky fun way of course. Whatever you do don’t go to http://www.buddyhead.com. 🙂

Got it. So to summarize, the SacRag posting rule is: No politically incorrect or unpopular ideas, opinions, or posts allowed on the SacRag msg board or SacRag will wish you into quadraplegia and belittle your opinions by calling you names. I guess we now know what “snark” is all about!

the only rule of Sac Rag commenting is, don’t talk about Sac Rag commenting. Do you see what i did there? just kidding there are no rules.
