Super Bowl Wrap-Up

Sure, Sunday’s football game had its share of missed calls and blown plays, but none of that really matters in the long run. What really matters is that Sacramento was subjected to quite possibly the worst commercial in the history of local commercials. Chuck Peterson over at Folsom Lake Ford should really be ashamed of himself. The little intelligence I had left after watching the national spots is still insulted this morning. And try explaining it to your friends from out of town who were watching the game. It can’t be done.

Update: Per CoolDMZ’s request the local spot was a parody of the credit card commercials featuring David Spade who says “No!” to anyone calls. Or something. If you don’t know what I’m talking about consider yourself one lucky m’fer.

  1. my real problem is that News10 and Surewest showed “Grey’s Anatomy” right after the game, instead of at its normal time. Tivo didn’t pick it up, so we missed it. jerks.

those of us who didn’t see this commercial might need a little bit more description…

  2. Sorry to read about your Tivo troubles, cool. I understand. I’ve been using the block of time feature for events like this. I started it at 3 and stopped it at 10 just to be safe.

  3. I thought it was kind of funny. Chuck is a horrible actor though. he should have exploded on the Guy and acted totally crazy with his eyes bugging out and stuff. Instead it was like a cardboard cutout talking…

  4. Was anyone else confused by the amount of primo Superbowl ad time that was dedicated to local news promos and Grey’s Anatomy promos? Not to mention that all of the ads sucked except for the caveman ad which only blew.

  5. I lost $50 on the Puppy Bowl! I’m taking “Mutts + 9” next year. Loved the Kitten Bowl’s wardrobe malfunction tho.

  6. The most entertaining part of yesterday, and I’m not ashamed to admit it, was the Puppy Bowl with the kitten halftime show on Animal Planet. Our party hosts did some serious picture-in-picture action so we could watch the game/commercials and the puppies/kittens at the same time.
