Rancho Cordova drug ring busted

Sounds like a major bust out at the Gold Line station at Mather Field. I found it interesting that drug dealers apparently “generally do not set up shop before noon and they do not work in the rain.” Maybe I’m just confusing crack dealers and Mail Carriers, like I’m aaalways doing. I’ll leave the joke about a drug prevention program being called “Weed and Seed” to SinghCity because that sounds right up his alley.

  1. My favorite quote in the article: “They want to give (steady customers) good value for their money,” James said.

If only the same could be said of so many other shop-keepers. So what I’m getting is a) open-air market; b) good value for the money; and c) open after noon in good weather. Except for the icky crack cocaine part I’d say this is a pretty sweet part of Sacramento commerce.

  2. I heard they went through a name selection process for this program, which included such nominations as:

    “Rope a Dope”
    “Smack the Crack”
    “Desperately seeking Mary Jane”
    “We don’t want no four-two-oh”

But, “Weed and Seed” as a drug prevention program in Sacramento? That sounds about right.
