The polarizing neighborhood of Tahoe Park, where I live, has finally reached the brass ring of gentrification. We can finally stand proud and call ourselves a real neighborhood. No, we don’t have a celebrity in our midst (not yet, ahem ahem), and no, we don’t have a high profile al Quaida sleeper cell investigation. You know your neighborhood is truly on the map when you get your first Starbuck’s.
The nearly completed minimall on the corner of 65th street and Broadway (dubbed “The 65th Street Corner“), at the extreme north eastern end of TP, is going to be anchored by none other than the city’s 698th Starbuck’s franchise (roughly). Notably, at exactly one half mile from the ‘Bucks at F65 (map link) I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it might be the closest franchise to an existing one.
Here in TP, we like our iced mochas with a shot of irrelevance.
Hey, I’m ready to move back! And I could, since my old house is back on the market, for a mere $120K more than I sold it for three years ago.

There are two Starbucks directly across the intersection from one another on Robson Street in Vancouver, BC.
From the movie Best in Show:
Meg Swan: We met at Starbucks. Not the same Starbucks, but we saw each other at different Starbucks across the street from each other.

Wow. TP is even good enough for FauxPaux now. Maybe one day it will even have a Whole Foods Market. Just kidding you of course Faux. And don’t forget what we call the “Swanson’s Starbucks” on Stockton & T where the Swanson’s cleaners used to be. What we have here is now kind of a Starbucks trinity.

I hate to rain on your parade, but the starbucks with the closest proximity would probably be the Pavillions center SBUX and the University Village SBUX which are probably less than 1/8th of a mile distant from one another. Of course there’s also the 21st and J St store from the 28th and J store. I’m not sure on the distance on that one.

19th & J – N & Alhambra is 1.2mi, but University to Pavilions is 0.5mi on the map…

since the F65 and 65th Street Corner are on such a straight line I’m going to give it the edge.
Carl: i had hoped we had reached the point where we didn’t have to preface everything with “in Sacramento” like “closest SBUX franchise to an existing one *in Sacramento*” but thanks for bringing me down to earth. or to put it another way, congratulations! vancouverag.com is available.

sac-eats, i just noticed that if you reverse the start and end points on University to Pavilions you shave .1 mile off, so indeed you win this round. I’ll get you sac-eats! Next time!! Next tiiiime!

If you do a google maps search for starbucks in midtown/east sac, you see so many locator balloons that you can’t see the streets.

Aren’t there two starbucksssss in downtown plaza now? One where the train store used to be and one at the other end?

Maybe it isn’t a good thing to think about this too hard. In league with Chris, the harder we look, the more stores we find until the entire Sac Valley turns into one giant oversized capuccino cup.

Adamant916 is right, sort of. There’s one at the West end of the mall, and then there is one on K Street between 7th and 8th, across from the light rail stop. That can’t be more than a quarter mile. And then there is the one on 9th between J and I. Also less than half a mile from the others. And Between the Alhambra/N and 19th/J one there is one on 26th/J. They’re everywhere! But we don’t have any across the street from each other yet, I don’t think…

thanks guys. rarely has so much brain power and research been done that had less of an impact on human happiness. i apologize for even bringing it up.
however, i will attempt to close the horrific loop i have started by saying that i believe under the right circumstances one could literally see the F65 SBUX from our new TP SBUX.

Tahoe Park was ALWAYS good enough for me. I just needed a bigger yard for the dogs. 🙂
As for *$s, call me a snob (again), but I like Tupelo best!

It should be calculated on a weighted scale based on how easy it is to get from one to another. Given the absolute cluster of frontages and left turn lanes on Fair Oaks between Pavilions and University (not to mention the caliber/self-centeredness of the drivers in the Pavilions area), the F65-65th Street Corner wins by a mocha.

Am I the only one that hates it when asshats park on the sidewalk along T street at the “Swansons Cleaners” Sbux since they only have 2 parking places?
When I say on the sidewalk, I mean on the sidewalk. I’ll try to snap a photo in the morning…

There is a Starbucks inside Safeway on Prarie City in Folsom, and one in the same strip mall (maybe 120 yards away). Does this count?
