My wife reports that the Sacramento Zoo has posted a sign banning the use of roller shoes. Those of us who are grumpy old people in 30 year olds’ bodies applaud the Zoo for taking such a pointless stance. Next stop: boys’ hair must be cut above the collar?

I assume that ban only applies to children, and not to the giraffes?

Coming from another grumpy old person in her mid-30’s: How about a ban on pre-teen and teenage girls dressing way too old for their age, and their moms & grandmas dressing way too young for their age? (Now, I’m not saying people within my age range should start sporting the mom jeans, appliqued vests, and holiday sweaters, just cover up the naughty bits we don’t want to see, please.)
Other bans to consider, and not just at the zoo: piercing the ears of babies, babies in bars, and babies wearing nothing but diapers in public no matter how hot it is outside

Oh man, I HATE those roller shoes. Kids are always rolling around on them at the supermarket and nearly running in to stuff. And they always look so smug…oh, that’s probably just my grumpy old manness showing through.
