C) The flavor of my pulled pork sandwich from Yunece yesterday.

What do these things have in common?
They’re all funky.
That’s right, there was some serious funk coming off of my pulled pork sammie from Yunece 61 the other day. We’re talking get-down-with-your-bad-self, break-out-in-a-cold-sweat, make-me-hurt-myself kind of funk Add to that the nearly tasteless potato salad served on the side and you can pretty much toss my whole visit into the crapper.

Despite the rather suspect food, however, the interior was lovely, nicely updated from the old Boss Hawg’s digs that used to be housed in the Folsom & Bradshaw space. To add to the atmosphere, they were playing John Coltrane on the hi-fi the whole time I was there. While anachronistic for a barbecue place, ‘Trane is still awesome. I was all set to love Yunece 61 even with its weird name, subpar location, and lack of reputation. Unfortunately, the food just didn’t stand up to expectations. In fact it did more than just fail my expectations, it took my expectations, rubbed its butt all over them and made them watch the entire first season of Blossom on DVD. It wasn’t a pleasant experience.
