We’ve all heard about the story of the drama teacher who was fired from the Catholic school where she taught, because of her pre-employment work at a family planning clinic.
What do I find interesting about the story?
The student whose mother first complained about Bain was expelled from Loretto after launching what school officials characterize as a public attack against the school on her personal website.
Man, firing the teacher and kicking out the student. Loretto administrators, you’re gonna run out of bricks for that wall at this rate!
But, I’ll tell you what I find even more interesting…
News10 wrote this about the lawyer who represents the Sacramento Catholic Diocese:
Diocese attorney James Sweeney defended the gronds for the firing. “It’s about the intergrity of Catholic education and religious freedom. It begins and ends with that First Amendment guarantee.”
Dayam News10, the typos are just atrocious!! What was the rush?
Oh, and, never mind the diocese fronting the religious freedom and First Amendment defense while simultaneously firing a teacher for not subscribing to their religious view, and kicking out a student who was just exercising her right to free speech herself.
