Ok, kissmekate, you’re officially off the hook. That is, my latest “enough already” thing is with energy drinks. It’s bad enough that you can’t find a picture of Demi Moore or Britney Spears NOT holding a can of this stuff, but now there are so many wannabe energy drinks hitting the market I just can’t take it. I thought Kabbalah Energy Drink was the worst of the worst (the link has a great review, btw, check it out) but today at Rite Aid on Alhambra I found a display of the all new Go Girl! energy drink.
Although Go Girlâ„¢ is not marketed as a mixer, many women enjoy it with vodka and other fun mixers. Go Girlâ„¢ is a functional drink that enhances the body and mind. If you have over indulged the night before try a Go Girlâ„¢.
Ugh.
UPDATE: As runnergirl1971 noticed, Go Girl is distributed by Nor-Cal Beverage Co. of West Sacramento. Apparently the drink is being well received. I guess there really is no accounting for lightly carbonated with a fruit-punch flavor, a natural herbal appetite suppressant, vitamins geared toward women, and about the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee, taste.
The question could even be posed: “How much energy does it take to highlight your hair or get a back tatoo?”

Dare I say…Go Girl! Nice catch.
That site was so busy and overcooked I had to make my way out of there fast. It’s a new company launched in September I see…oh, and they love pink! Not sure how I feel about their use of the otherwise spoken for pink ribbon imagery. I’ll do some research and report back.

Caffeine is the new hot pink.
(sorry, just had to)

Thank you Mr. TopofIt for pointing out this annoying trend & also for granting clemency to the oversized sunglasses (better than Botox!) I’ve NEVER seen anyone drink one of these “energy drinks” to enhance their performance at any of the endurance races. One would be laughed off the trail and deservedly fed to the mountain lions should he/she pop the top of a Go Girl, Red Bull, or Kabbalah.

I just clicked on the Go Girl website & their contact info has them listed in West Sac! Did we know this already?

Just heard a radio ad. In the radio version of fine print it says, “A portion of proceeds benefits breast cancer research” so I guess they can use the pink ribbons

Studies have shown that sugar free energy drinks and caffeine lead to higher rates of breast cancer. Nice co-branding effort!

“Studies have shown” That’s just lazy. Ever hear of Google? Found legitimate studies to the contrary eats. It’s getting like News10 up in here with the lazy journalism.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t italicize the comment to indicate the sarcasm of the comment. I am not actually aware of anyone that says that caffeine leads to breast cancer…except maybe this guy: http://ghc.ctc.edu/~rwenke/Annie/Mad%20Scientist%20in%20his%20lab.jpg

Okay, okay. i admit it, i’ve had the stuff. It is fruity and best of all,the drink itself is hot pink! The can does draw unwanted attention, however. I guess saceats is right, I don’t really need a can of GoGirl if all I’m doing with my time is getting hightlights and pedicures (tats are out, peds are in!)
