Motivate This.

The watercoolers across town are all abuzz with the fact that traffic was really pitiful yesterday due to a motivational seminar where Rudy Guilianni spoke or appeared by satellite or something. Am I alone in this sort of thing bringing out a huge chip on my shoulder? If you have 2 hours to sit in traffic followed by 8 hours to sit in a seminar where you’re told to get up and do something it seems you had the time and opportunity to get up and do that something in the first place. My favorite quote though was from this lady:

“Otherwise people forget the spiritual life,” she said.

For Petite, 43, the day helped inspire her to find a new job, both because she wants higher pay and a change of pace, she said.

The speakers reminded her to “put yourself first and always have a positive attitude,” she said. “You have to do the things you want out of life.”

Sorry, but isn’t always putting yourself first like the opposite of a spiritual life? Wow. This really brings out the snark in me. Anyone else? Who’s with me? SquirtyTip?

  1. You are totally correct about this total contradiction. Just goes to show how lost (and/or stupid) most people are. Hey, don’t forget, over 59 million people actually cast ballots for Bush! But then again, maybe half of those were because of Diebold!
