Just doesn’t add up

Not much to this one, folks. Well, maybe one thing. If the deal was offered to the first 99 people in line, and you were say, I don’t know, 100 or 101, don’t you just snap your fingers in disappointment and say, “Oh well, I’ll get’em next time”?

  1. At no point in that story does anything resembling arithmetic occur. “At least nine…more than 100…the next 99…” WTF? If we knew how many more than nine, I suppose we could add 99 to that and come up with a number that was more than 100? Was this a hidden MENSA test?

  2. Ooh! ooh! I got another one…

KCRA reports on Election 2000: “At least zero people were elected president today, as more than 1 candidate was eligible, and the remaining number of rejected candidates, between 0 and 1, were sent packing…”

  3. Good point, CoolDMZ.

I was being lazy and got stuck on “The next 99 customers were able to buy a scooter for 99 cents.”
