Friday Night Concerts schedule announced

MC RutThe DTP (Downtown Partnership, not to be confused with DTV, the Downtown Vandals) has announced the full lineup for the Friday Night Concerts in the park. Not too many surprises, except maybe the inclusion of Knock Knock. A Kevin Seconds-themed show, Bucho, The Brodys, Mick Martin etc. are all classic picks. I can’t find the full lineup from last year but I remember some better shows.

I guess the other interesting inclusion this year is freakin hot buzzworthy Middle Class Rut, which you keep hearing on KWOD.

(I like the DTP events calendar’s default text for a broken search page like this one for last year’s lineup… “What”)

  1. A couple things of note on the lineup. The Kevin Seconds show is a Kevin and Kepi theme. Both have CDs coming out on Asian Man Records around the same time, both will be fronting two of the four bands at the show. That should be fun. And if you like ripping fast punk rock and haven’t seen the Altruistics this is a band you have to see.

Second, I think it’s very cool that Sal Valentino will be playing the park. If you haven’t seen Sal, check him out.

Also good to see that Lite Brite will be out there. Good young band that is new to the local scene.

  2. Give the DSP (Downtown Sacramento Partnership) a break…think small non profit trying to do some cool stuff for the community.

What event do you produce that supports local bands and brings thousands of people into the heart of Downtown 15 weeks out of the year?

    Think about it.

  3. You have to say “What” like a self-satisfied rapper to truly get a feel for what the DSP did last year. At least I think that’s what they’re trying to say?

  4. Downtowner I will give them a break, give them a break, break them off a piece of that football cream.
