Why do I love a blustery day?

I suppose it’s possible that I don’t want to know the answer to this question, but why is it that a blustery Northern California day like today fills me with happiness? I don’t think I’d want a steady diet of it, e.g. the Pacific Northwest, but something about a windy rainy day in these parts makes me incredibly joyful inside.

I’m sure I’m not the only one. Is it only because that means there is turkey and presents in my near future?

  1. I like it, too. Just on occasion, though. It’s nice to have a change of pace, and a reason to stay inside and curl up with a good book. No excuses necessary. Sorry, I’m not able to pull weeds or mow the lawn. I’ll just have to try hard to enjoy this quiet time with my book. Shucks.

  2. Silly Christians. As “some kind of native american religion that uses fire and peyote” convert, I enjoyed a nice fireplace, tumbler o’ whiskey, a good book, and peyote! Lead to several “did that branch/tin roof/waste can fly by or was that my imagination?” moments.

Nothing like watching your neighbors car get donged by his own tree branches. Snicker snicker. Though flying a kite in high winds is NOT as easy as it sounds. At least I think it was a kite. Maybe a cat. Probably a kite. I think. Is there a Sac ordinance against flying cats?
