Friends! Whenever my husband and I have needed to rent an apartment/house in Sacramento we’ve just driven around until we found something. So besides Craigslist I have have no idea where someone from out of town should look for rental lists. Website suggestions, fellow snarkers?

No brainer: The Bee.
Or easier yet, sacbee.com.

I recommend getting a copy of the newspaper. The classifieds are different than those online.

You could also check with area Property Management companies for their clients available units.
Sac BBB ( http://www.northeastcalifornia.bbb.org/ )has an online database
( http://www.northeastcalifornia.bbb.org/search.html )which will list property management companies in the area, some BBB members, some not. Also gives info on compliants about each. Just put in the city, select state and you have a list to work from.
