Big News in Bay Area Baseball!

That’s right, the nation as a whole reached a new milestone last night.  It was months, nay years, in the making, but it’s about time that I admit what I’ve known for while:  The A’s aren’t making the playoffs this year.

Yes, that’s right, I, the biggest Oakland Athletics stooge in the Sacramento area, have given up hope.  After last night’s dismal loss to the Texas Rangers, I hold out no hope that the A’s will pull their late season heroics and push their way into the the post-season via the wild card.  Hopefully, this isn’t a trend and things can get back on track next year, and maybe every player won’t get injured, but we’ll just have to wait and see.  My tears are real and salty at this moment.

…Oh yeah, and some giant-headed dude in San Francisco  launched a home run for like the 40 zillionth time or something, but I don’t follow the National League so I’m a little fuzzy on the details.

I too bleed green and gold and have no hopes of a playoff berth this year. I don’t know who half the team is anymore. And can Chavez get that back fixed already?

At least you guys aren’t stuck with Barry Zito for the next 6 years and you aren’t dead last in your division by over 10 games. Go Giants!

I hate it when A’s fans make reference to Barry Bonds and his steroid use. What a joke.

that’s right! barry is 100% pure greatness. and besides steroids makes you kind of a jerk and he’s the nicest guy ever! the proof is in the pudding, or the juice, wait no, the clear, or are they calling it the gel…i can’t keep up.

Good point “Sour Ass.” A’s fans are indeed the only people to make reference to Barry’s steroid use. Absolutely no one else takes those charges seriously.
Or are you referring to the fact that A’s players are currently on steroids too and it is therefore hypocritical for A’s fans to judge? I can see your point there. That Marco Scutaro is one beefed up mf’er. If he shoots up any more he’ll pull a Lou Ferrigno on all of his shirts.

Sure, Bonds did steroids. But Hank Aaron never had to hit pitchers on the juice, like Bonds did—in his prime, no less.

GAME OF SHADOWS is a very convincing indictment of Bonds. I think the blame falls on Selig for not more aggressively fighting steroid use in the ’90s, and also for not pressuring the Mitchell investigation to produce results in a timely fashion.

It’s just embarrassing for MLB. That said, Hank Aaron has a lot of class for taping that message. He’s tops.

Steroid use as we know it began in the A’s clubhouse. If you would like me to present a list of A’s players that were or are know “juice” users than i can do that for you?

Aaaaaaaa, now I see. “Sins of the father” and all. By the way, if you look back, I didn’t make any reference to Bonds’s ‘roid use in the original post. I simply referenced the fact that he has a giant noggin, which is pretty much an empiracal fact. His head is pretty much enourmous.

Does steroid use affect driving? As long as drug use doesn’t harm others, people should have the choice to take drugs.

I am always, always, always, first and foremost a Giants fan. If the Giants are not in the running, my loyalty goes with my cousin, who is with the Padres this year (instead of the Angels, whom he worked for last year).
