It’s raining!

I’m speculating that we can all look forward to team coverage on “Rain Watch ‘07: Holiday Edition” since we haven’t had nearly enough of this wet stuff in some time.

Who are the most rookie reporters who will have to report from Blue Canyon today and tonight?

Heh. “STORM WATCH 2007 - Are your children AT RISK?!?!?”

Now with expanded Team Coverage, our entire staff of 27 reporters. Let’s begin with Ric Romero.

Ric Romero: “Ooohh, watch out, the roads are oily. Well, that’s all from here, back to the studio.”

[others feel free to add in]

News reader: Coming up, what you don’t know about the rain could KILL you!

(break for commercials, come back for inane news reader chatter, story about something “crazy” that Mark S. Allen or some such person is doing, more commercials, more inane chatter, sports, more commercials, then…)

News reader: Driving in the rain can be dangerous. For more on that we take you out to (insert name of rookie reporter who is willing to take any assignment). How’s it going out there, (name)? (Shot of reporter holding umbrella and standing next to fender bender.) and so on and so on…

I miss Ryan Yamamoto reporting from Blue Canyon. He always managed to look colder than anyone else, possibly because his producer was yelling into his earpiece “Sell it, Ryan! Sell the cold and we will let you do sports!”

CBS-13 gets at least one new reporter every week. I’m not sure why there’s such a high turnover: are the reporters fired, or do they choose to leave?

The local news likes to let viewers hear what falling rain sounds like. When I hear falling rain on TV, it sounds muffled; and like it might be hitting something like a tent.

It’s a good thing that it’s starting to rain…cbs 13 almost had to cover news. Close one guys, close one.

I know this thread is a rain thread, but… I saw video on CBS-13 of a high-speed (100 mph) chase that ended up with a head-on collision. The person in the car that was hit died instantly. There’s no word on the other driver, (the car thief). That’s the most violent car crash I’ve ever seen. I’ts not worth risking lives to catch a car thief.

i was always under the impression that when car chases reached high speeds the police were to back off due to public danger. isn’t that why we’re paying out our asses for the law enforcement helicopters?

The only solution is for cops to have the authority to shoot everyone in the fleeing car, on the spot. That’ll cut down on car chases like nothing else. For all you bleeding hearts out there, maybe just one shot, to the lower spine. Now, back to the rain with asian reporter Ryan Yamamoto!

sorry pal, cops can’t shoot to injure. they must shoot to kill. back to the drawing board.

My mom still wants to see me at Blue Canyon. I keep telling her that I’m not a reporter for a reason (though actually, that’s not the reason.)

CBS-13 has a new weather reporter. Her first name is Laurie. I don’t know what her last name is. She looks like she’s about to give birth. It’s odd that CBS-13 hired someone who will soon be on maternity leave.

Maybe the new meteorologist is highly qualified, and CBS 13 adheres to the California Fair Employment & Housing Act?
