I am taking advantage of my first truly free weekend in more than 2 months.

13 wineries in Amador County will be participating in Italian Wine Roads Weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Wineries will feature food, barrel tastings, music, educational seminars and discounts. I love me some Foothill Sangiovese and Barbera, see you on Saturday if you do, too.

Saturday night, I will also be seeing local hippy band Deadlocke at the Fox and Goose.

Sunday is the Woodland Hot Rod Reunion Car and Cycle Show. I dig the classic cars, but am mainly going to see local honkeytonkers Stars and Garters.

We plan on attending the Italian Wine Road as well. This is a good event, as it is generally underpublicized, so there is a lot going on at the wineries, but fewer attendees than other events like Crush or Behind the Cellar Door. Make sure to visit Convergence Vinyards, our favorite participating Amador Winery. Here is a link to the event if anyone else is interested:

Ah, good taste. Convergence is my cousin’s place, so we’ll be there for a while. Ask Steve and Jamie if the Scott family is around, I’ll be there with my folks and my brother. Or ask the 30-something guys if they are “Stickie and on the Rag” and see what reaction you get. :)

Stickie & CSI Sac: You two should recognize each other from this past Saturday’s tasting at Rail Bridge Cellars.
