Right Awn! Friday: Feeding the need

This week, I’d like to give a personal shout-out for Right Awn! Friday. Why? Because I can. And why else? Because there are so many angles to this admittedly short story, that perhaps is worth exploring.
I will leave it to you to explore, but here’s a thought…

Do smokers get a bad rap? Always a debatable issue…

I was waiting outside an office building in my car for my own handsome companion yesterday. In front of me was the pictured ashtray/garbage bin that most offices have for employees who smoke.

A dude came out of the building. Since he was wearing a badge, I presume he was an employee. He walked up to the ashtray and started rummaging, picking up cigarette butts that (apparently) had some cigarette left in them

He then proceeded to light each one and smoke what was left.

I didn’t have the guts to take his picture, nor actually give him a right awn from my car. But I have to say, I admire this man’s determination to not only save a few bucks for himself by not buying his own cigs, but also to recycle unused portions of other peoples’ smoke sticks. Cultural conventions be damned! Why waste perfectly good smokes, especially considering all those people who can’t smoke in this world?

Besides, what’s a little cigarette backwash, considering all the other stuff he’s sucking in out of those cigarettes?

RIGHT AWN, DUDE!

  1. This comment is sure to tick off many, but isn’t smoking WT enough without recycling what’s left of nearly-spent cigarettes?

  2. A common abbreviation, Snarkfin, it’s a polite way of calling someone what everyone is already thinking about them. A term that sounds sort of bad when you say it, but you know it’s true.

At the risk of offending, I’ll say it here, once:

    “Without Tact”
