We’re at the point here at the Sac Rag that we don’t even bother reporting on “normal” crashes involving a vehicle and a living room (unless it’s a two-fer, of course), but this one is different. While Sacramento isn’t making a name for itself on any “best place to…” list, it does continue to bring its “A” game in this arena.
Sacramento police say around 9:20 p.m. one of its officers and the driver of a Honda crashed into one another on Village Star Drive and Franklin Boulevard. The impact sent the Honda into the living room of a nearby home.
Wow, huh? I wonder what happened. High speed pursuit? Drunk driver? Man, what could it have been? I must read on…
Police say there are no indications that speed or alcohol lead to the crash.
Oh, ok, Police, sure that’s enough for me. I’ll move on now.
The Bee provides more detail on this story here.

Why does everyone hate Michal Vick. In many cultures, dogfighting is perfectly acceptable. When did it become acceptible to impose our morals on everyone around us.

wtf? you have got to be kidding me. it’s not morals alone..it’s ethics, humanity, compassion, and commen sense. to say nothing of common decency would be a mistake as well. as jon stewart said and the facts state: he killed dogs with his bare hands!

haha… best post i’ve read in a while.
it’s not really the culture that’s causing a controversy. Vick just chose the wrong country to live in, that’s all. Aside from his hobby of slaughtering dogs for personal amusement, i’m sure he’s just a big teddy bear.

Gasp! If MV had killed an animal with his bare hands and ate it later, would it be acceptible. I love me some pollo, and I’d be willing to slaughter my own food. I guess since WE keep dogs as pets, it’s immoral. You ethnocentrist snob!

Ours is a culture that prides itself on conflicting ideologies, often times thrown together in the same statement and logic be damned.
If chickens came when you called them, we’d be less inclined to consume them. However, in our culture dogs (and cats, to be fair) are more prone to adopting traits we humanize and think of in a self-satisfying manner; thus securing their lower likelihood to appear on KFC’s menu board.
One entitlement chickens and dogs both share in our culture is “no fighting allowed”. Engaging in or facilitating dog or cock fighting is a punishable offense, unless your monetary worth is diametrically opposed to the worth of your character.

I can think of at least one “humanized” rooster. I loved it when Foghorn Leghorn would play tricks on that dog. Chickenhawk indeed!

I would like to talk about how there’s no heat wave this year.

sorry, what does a heat wave have to do with Michal Vick or humanized roosters?
i’d like to talk about a female dog fighting a rooster and what that would be called..

You have a point SinghCity… heat has been rather mild.

It’s hard to complain about the heat this year because last year was so much hotter. Don’t you think?
Does anyone think Lindsay Lohan is still hot?

Oh I think you know what that would be called TD… but you bring up a good point that warrants further discourse at a later date.
Michael Vick and Foghorn Leghorn do share one fortuitous commonality. Neither appears to be morally culpable for their treatment of dogs.

ibid: you’re funny. I get it. Although, I must disagree with the Prius sentiment. I passed many of them going both up and down the hill from Truckee yesterday, and I’m not sure if it’s the cars or the drivers that don’t have guts.
