This Second Saturday, enjoy your art and share it, too. Head over to Raphael Delgado Art Studio, 1018 22nd Street, for a unique pairing of art and the spirit of giving. But don’t show up empty-handed! This party is for the giver, not the Grinch. Bring along some art materials to donate to the Stanford Home for Children’s annual Crayons to Canvas art supply drive.
This drive provides materials for the nonprofit’s art therapy program helping teens from at-risk families. They are specifically in need of art supplies for youth ages 10-18.
With art provisions in tow, you’ll be merrily welcomed at the Raphael Delgado Art Studio for an evening of food and appreciation from 5-9 p.m. You are also welcome to browse—and purchase—one of his cubist paintings: 30% of proceeds will benefit the youth project.
Delgado’s art ranges from somber to quiet intellect to the emotional and peaceful—all set to life through color, shape, and deeply-felt creativity. Through his art, you can sense Delgado’s connection to community—a feeling that will be even richer this Second Saturday as he invites others to join him in giving back to local kids.
To buy your art supplies, visit Art Ellis Supply, where you’ll receive a 20% discount by mentioning the Crayons to Canvas drive. Even if you can’t attend the art show, your donations are welcome.
