“Tramapoline! Trampopoline!”

Looking for something fun to do indoors for a birthday the other week, I bit the bullet (to overcome three things: my hatred of spending money, my aversion to dealing with other people, and my gag reflex at the smell of heat lamp-warmed pizza) and took the family to Sky High Sports in Rancho Cordova. But the results were quite satisfactory!

As it turns out, jumping on giant trampolines for an hour is extremely fun. We opted for a 10-visit punch card, which works out to $6 per person per visit. And if you just want to try it once there is a coupon in the Entertainment book. I’m not the kind of person who would ever want to host a birthday party at a place that sets itself up as a location for hosting birthday parties, but I would definitely take a 10 kids to Sky High for some jumping action on or around a child’s birthday. Another great idea for Sky High would be to get a group of guys together for some trampoline dodge ball, which I am looking forward to doing soon.

I can’t wait to use the rest of the punch card but my lumbar region insists on waiting at least 3-4 weeks.

  1. What a terrible understanding of metaphor. “Biting the bullet” is what you do to ease the pain caused by a medical procedure, especially an amputation. The things you don’t like would be comparable to the amputation, not the bullet.

  2. Actually, in olden days before metal bullets the “bullet” was made up of amputated fingers. Therefore, I’m right.

Just kidding, excellent point! I sure screwed up that metaphor. And apparently I misquoted a cartoon as well. UNPLUG INTERNET Y/N

  3. Oh and I have to agree about Sky High. Not something I’d do on a regular basis (although they seem to do aerobic jumping classes & such), but very enjoyable for a little change of pace.

And dodge-ball is totally worth it, even if you throwout your arm and get humiliated by the local teenage trampoline rats. Not like that would happen to me….yeah.

  4. HAHAHHA! I found an error! I win. I bet the system where is my float? I’ll take the money in a lump sum instead of installments, please!
