We’re 2 now, so we talk like it. That’s right, today marks the 2nd birthday of this here Web log! According to WordPress, “There are currently 1,128 post and 4,599 comments, contained within 83 categories.”
I have recently realized that there are more “Sac Rag people” than I can name offhand and I love that. And there are new ones every day. I think it’s a great place to be and I see us growing by leaps and bounds this year. I’m sure I speak for all my compatriates when I say that being part of The Sac Rag is one of the most fun things I’ve ever done. Thanks to all the readers for making it a fun 2 years.
I say our 2007 goal should be to repeat as Best Local Blog. This time, however, we win the award outright with no vague secondary placement under Heckasac with a number two next to the second place blog rather than next to the third place blog which implies there was tie, but without a number one next to both winning blogs, some people could be lead to think Heckasac won and we were second and that there was some sort of typo by SNR and The Mark Williams Radio Show Blog was listed as second when they were really third.
Yes, that right there should be our goal. Simple enough, right?

Happy birthday! Thank you all for enriching our lives so much with the gossip and snark.

Yay us! We rule. I think year 3 goals should include actual Sac Rag events, more Sac Rag gear and a Sac Rag expense account.

Speaking of birthdays, does anyone know of businesses that give special treatment to customers celebrating birthdays (other than a sombrero and flan at Chevy’s)? I already have my free car wash scheduled in Outlook in for tomorrow.

Here’s a site that may help. It’s outdated, but worth a shot. Especially some free cake. And hit up Cold Stone, they do something along with Baskin Robbins.
But don’t ask them flat out, walk in and recite what you wrote here to them. Then report back on what they say.

I’m not sure if they take new people on their list anymore, but Mr. Perry’s has some birthday club thing going on where if you give them your birthday and mailing address, they’ll send you a gift certificate for a free meal that can be redeemed during your birthday month.
One year, I hit three Denny’s for free birthday meals. That’s probably not even close to a world record Denny’s birthday cheap-off, but I did experience a glow of accomplishment until about mid-afternoon the next day.

Only 2. I guess that explains the immature behavior. The terrible 2’s.

BM: Consider this here ‘rag a welcome break from those who take themselves too seriously. Plus, I count the blog world in dog years, so it’s more like 14.
