KLJ: The Perfect Stocking Stuffer

While driving back from a meeting in Turlock this afternoon, when I finally regained the signal to Capital Public Radio I was instantly engaged in a story being told on Insight.Smartly written and told in a tone not unlike David Rakoff or David Sedaris, I asked myself, “Who IS this? I need to read more of whatever this person has written!”

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was our very own Sac Rag commenter and local writer / comic / actor / stunt panhandler Keith Lowell Jensen.  While I’ve never met KLJ personally, I’m a frequent checker-outer of his blog, and I’ve heard from other artist-types that he is genuinely one of the nicest people you’d ever meet.

His conversation with Michael Montgomery (filling in for the ailing Jeffrey Callison) included his thoughts on Christmas, public scandals, and promoting his new book — which I am purchasing and you should too.

For just $10 plus $2 shipping/handling, you can have your own copy of Oh Holy Night and Other Stories. (It has a flask on the cover — how could you not want to buy this?)

His website says that bulk discounts are available, so maybe you can buy a gross to hand out to your favorite baristas and burger slingers.

Because I can’t get the links to work on WordPress on my computer, please go to www.rockass.net to find out more.

  1. No Comments yet? Dang. I figured someone must hate me enough to talk some smack. Oh well. I’d better get out there and make some more enemies.
Thanks for your review. I hope you enjoy the book.
The interview was fun, but I was a little bummed not to be talking with Jeffrey Callison who gives good interview.
I’m very excited about my little book.

I’m trying to get copies into True Love, but them folks are hard to get a hold of. I’ll probably go there tonight.
    Thanks again.

  3. I’m sorry I missed the interview. :/ Shame on you, Keith, for not self-promoting. The next time you have a radio interview, let us know to listen in. I would guess (especially after this entry) SacRag has no qualms giving love to one of their own.

  4. I thought I was self-promoting by being on the radio in the first place. I will definitely work on putting ALL of the sacrag folks on my press list.
Uh yup. Sure do appreciate it.
